Guide
for Authors
The
original papers in "Rastenievudni Naouki" Journal must necessarily
include summary (in Bulgarian and English languages), introduction,
material and methods, results, discussion and references. The summary
should present in a most concised form (not more than 160 words)
the subject of investigation, the experimental materials and methods,
the basic results and conclusions. Six key words are given at the
end. In the introductory part the authors are expected to substantiate
the necessity of their investigations on the background of current
literary data dealing with the respective problem, to provide an
working hypothesis and to specify their purposes. The applied methodical
approaches should be clearly and precisely described or cited. Undesirable
for the Results section is the presentation and detailed description
of any primary or insignificant data. Results and Discussion sections
may be unified by the decision of the authors.
In the short
articles papers (up to 3 pages) reports are made on original result
concerning newly developed varieties, technologies or plant forms
and methods of significant contribution to the development of plant
growing industry. Obligatory sections for the articles of this type
as well as for the review articles are the summary (in Bulgarian
and English) and the references*
The journal
preserves the existing "New varieties" rubric. The review articles
(up to 8 pages) should treat current and scientifically important
problems of the plant growing and should provide deep and exhaustive
analysis of the Bulgarian and world achievements in the given sphere.
1. Manuscripts
are presented at the editorial office in two fully completed copies
formed as standard typewritten pages (1800 strokes) and on a diskette
accompanied by a record from a meeting of the primary unit where
the paper has been accepted. Materials on the diskette should be
of a size for MS Word for Windows (*.DOC) the graphs and figures
- for MS Excel (*.XLS) or as screen images of
TIFF, JPG size
(with a dividing capacity no less than 225 dpi and rate of compression
for the JPG files no less than 9)
2. The
language and stylistic formation of the materials presented is obligation
and responsibility of the authors themselves.
3. The
title of the paper (article) must be short, precise, without abbreviations
and must designate the objects of investigation. The names and surnames
of the authors should be given under it and also the name and address
of the institution they work in. When the paper is written by a
team of authors one must be pointed out whom the editor will keep
in touch with.
4. The
tables are presented on a separate page. Their headings and the
text included should be written in both Bulgarian and English.
5. The
illustrations (figures) must be of really high quality making possible
their direct printing. Their size should not exceed 8.6 x 23.6 cm
(for single column printing) and 18.2 x 23.6 cm (for double column
printing). Parts of composite figures are marked by using small
Latin letters (a, b, c, ...) The headings of the figures are written
in Bulgarian and English languages on a separate page.
6. Use
is made of the International System of Measuring Units - SI.
7. Literature
is cited in the text according to the Harvard system (name-year).
When the authors are more than 2 only the name of the first one
is given, followed by et al. If several citations are presented
about a given thesis they are chronologically arranged.
8. The
list of cited literature (the References) follows immediately after
the text and is made by arranging the names of the authors in an
alphabetical order while bibliographical data about the titles of
periodicals include the names and initials of the authors, the year,
the title, the name of the journal, its volume, the first and the
last page. For books the name and location of the publisher are
also given. The list of references begins with the titles in Cyrillic
alphabet.
9. The
manuscripts not answering the requirements of the Editorial board
are sent back to the authors for remaking.
10. The
final decision about the manuscripts presented is taken By the Editorial
board on the basis of the opinion given by a special reviewer it
has appointed.
11. The
Journal does not accept materials that are fully or partially published
elsewhere or that are in the press for other publications as well
as such that constitute a part of already defended dissertations
for Philosophy or Doctor degrees.
12. Proof
sheets are sent to the corresponding author who must send them back
to the Editorial office 48 hours after their receive.
13. Reprints
of the papers may be ordered by the authors directly from the publishing
house after being accepted for publication,
14. In
case of non-observance of the conditions specified above, the editors
will give no effect to the materials, nor will send them back and
will bear no responsibility for such that have not been a sited
for within a 6-month period. |
